World Series of Poker Day 1A Main Event Update

Well, Day 1A of the Main Event saw many familiar players in the field. People like Jerry Yang and Tony G were in attendance, as were other notable names like Andy Black, Mel Judah and several of poker’s biggest names. Men the Master was a bit late due to a business meeting, taking his seat just before the end of the first round. The tournament started at noon local time and is still going through Day 1A as of the time of this update being written.

Overall, there were not that many surprises in this first bit of action from the World Series of Poker Main Event. There were a few big hands, including one particular 60,000 chip pot where four of a kind ended up losing to a straight flush. In the end though, it appears as though many of the biggest names have been able to weather a large part of the storm that is day 1 at this particular tournament.

For some stars, it has been a roller coaster ride. Tony G is an example of one such poker professional. He started his day off winning pot after pot and even eliminating some opponents along the way. However, his luck changed eventually, with the biggest mouth in the game of poker even losing two consecutive pots to the same person at his table. He was relatively quiet after an initial burst and at the moment is just looking to hold onto his seat until the end of the day.

Mila Kunis was supposedly spotted in the crowd of players during this day of play, although it was later realized that this was just someone that looked like Mila Kunis and was not actually her. That is certainly a positive comment on the looks of the young lady that was confused for Mila, but at the end of the day star-hunters are still out there looking for the star of That 70s Show and Family Guy.

So all in all, this has been a relatively uneventful day so far. They won’t all be like that however as many will fall on the ultimate journey to the final table of the World Series of Poker.
