World Poker Tour Comes to Party Poker VIPs

All of the VIPs at Party Poker may have their sights set on the World Series of Poker, but the fact of the matter is that the World Poker Tour can often be just as lucrative and because it often gets overshadowed many feel that the qualifiers for it are a lot easier to get through.

If you wish to put that theory to the test, the good news is that Party Poker VIPs are now all enrolled in a VIP promotion that started on April 7th and will be running all the way through to the end of the calendar month.

At the centre of this promotion are two leaderboards with each leaderboard corresponding to a particular group. The first leaderboard will list the 200 top players from the Palladium Lounge while the second will be a leaderboard listing the 50 top players with Elite status. In the case of the first leaderboard, all of those players on it will be in on a prize pool of $150,000 while in the case of the second it will be a prize pool of $100,000. The higher up a player places on the leaderboard, the higher their final prize will be.

In addition to those prizes however, Party Poker is also offering World Poker Tour prize packages worth $15,000 to the players in the top two of each of the leaderboards. This way in total Party Poker will give out four packages to any WPT stop the player wants to go to in the first round of their promotion.

The first round is an important point here because players not finishing in those top four spots still have a chance to get a promotional prize package. If a player is able to finish in the top 500 on the overall leaderboard, they will get a chance to play in a freeroll tournament taking place on May 9th. A fifth and final WPT package of $15,000 will be awarded to the winner of this freeroll tournament before the promotion closes. So even if a player does not win one of the four up front prizes, they still have a chance to get free entry into a WPT event of their choice if they manage to finish in the top 500.
