World Poker Tour Celebrity event has satellites at Party Poker
Party Poker’s affiliation with the World Poker Tour (WPT) has seen them send their own players to many of the events on the WPT. The Celebrity Invitational will be no exception to that general rule and that is why players are already showing interest at getting in on the satellite tournament action to earn their way into winning a prize package of $3000 that will earn them a seat at the table.
Sundays up to the start of the event will see the WPT Satellite tournament being held. For every 20 players that end up playing in the tournament, there will be 1 player winning a prize package for the event. Players can start with a freeroll tournament held daily and get into a $1 rebuy tournament if they score within the top 50 of a freeroll. Each $17 placed in the prize pool for that tournament in turn awards 1 seat in a sub-qualifier worth $160 and that tournament feeds into the final satellite tournament at the rate of 1 advancement per 10 players in the tournament.
A second route involves the player shelling out $2 for the buy-in and through that payment making their way into the sub-qualifier which in turn leads into the final satellite tournament. The $2 buy-in gets them a slightly better chance at 1 in 10 of going on, but does at least theoretically cost more since the 10 players would have paid $20 instead of $17 for the single advancement.
However players eventually decide to make their way to the final and get a prize package, all of the $3000 prize packages available will allow players to participate in the Main Event. The Main Event will be held on February 18th and 19th and will come with a guaranteed prize pool of $200,000. Overall, it is not the most lucrative WPT tournament available to players, but it is definitely one that can promise a decent top prize to any players that manage to get their way through the satellites and towards the final events that were available.
