WCOOP 2010 Scheduled at Poker Stars

The World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) is always a big event in the world of poker and Poker Stars certainly knows how to make sure that everyone is aware of when the actual festivities begin. This year, it seems as though their tournament schedule will surpass even 2009’s amazing $50 million in prize money since 2010 will see 17 more events as part of the WCOOP than the previous year.

It will all get underway on September 5th with three No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em tournaments, all of which are open to direct buy-in and also have satellite events going on right now on Poker Stars for people that would like to get into them for a cheaper amount of money. At the same time however, satellite tournaments are also available for all of the other 59 tournaments that will constitute the 2010 WCOOP series.

Although No Limit Hold ‘Em will start things off, Poker Stars is a site of many online poker variants and that is why players can expect a varied schedule that will include everything from Omaha all the way to Badugi. Several mixed game variants will also be played with many different styles including 10-handed and 6-handed tables as well as smaller versus longer amounts of time per blind level.

Overall, the 2010 WCOOP is a great online poker tournament series that gives many players the chance to get into some big events. An example of this is the Main Event at the 2010 WCOOP which is scheduled to start on September 26th and will take a buy-in of $5200 for a seat. As with all of the other events however, it is possible to get a seat with a much smaller amount of money simply by playing in and winning one of the many available satellite tournaments.

Players interested in winning a satellite seat at a tournament should consult the lobby in Poker Stars to see what is available right now. The rest of the summer will see satellites for all of the events available, some of which will continue even through the early stages of WCOOP for the later events.
