Spring Tournament Schedule Available from Poker Stars

Poker Stars is of course the dominant online poker website when it comes to tournaments and that is why they regularly have multi-tournament festivals in order to remind the rest of the world just how good they are.

The tournament that they have in the spring is appropriately called the Spring Championship of Online Poker. Ever fond of the expressive acronym, Poker Stars calls this festival SCOOP for short. In 2010, SCOOP will start on May 3rd and continue through to May 16th, two dates that will bookend the 33 different tournaments that will be played over that period of time.

As is to be expected, Texas Hold ‘Em tournaments will dominate the agenda and there will mostly be no limit tournaments within that group. However, pot limit and fixed limit Hold ‘Em will also be offered along with several less popular tournaments such as the Omaha and Stud variants as well as Razz, HORSE and Badugi. Poker Stars has certainly become a fan of online poker in all its forms and the SCOOP festival is certainly a great time for them to showcase all of the different games that they have available.

Money is an interesting aspect in this Poker Stars SCOOP 2010 festival. Each tournament has a low stakes, medium stakes and high stakes version and therefore there are some amazing chances for people to walk into a limit they are comfortable with and take down a large prize pool. Collectively, SCOOP will give away $36 million in prize money and that means that just about every winner will get something sweet in terms of a cash prize from the tournament that they defeat.

The flagship event of SCOOP 2010 will be the May 16th May Event. The low-stakes version calls for a $109 buy-in and a $1 million guaranteed prize pool. The medium-stakes version calls for a $1050 buy-in and a $3 million guaranteed prize pool. Finally, the high-stakes version calls for a $10,300 buy-in and a $5 million guaranteed prize pool. When you look at all three of those events, it should set your mouth watering. Even the low-stakes event can return a six-figure grand prize.
