Serious and Cosmetic Upgrades revealed at Party Poker
Players that are fans of the way that Party Poker conducts business may or may not be happy with the recent upgrades created to the Party Poker software package. Party Poker has often been the last online poker site of note to adopt the popular advances of the day and that is certainly the case with many of the upgrades they’ve put into the latest version of their online poker software package.
This starts with the introduction of a differentiated look of a player that represents a professional officially playing for Team Party Poker. Now, players like Tony Guoga, Kara Scott and Mike Sexton are all going to be easily identifiable through the “Spot the Party Pro” feature that has been introduced into the mix. This of course allows Party Poker to join the ranks of sites like Full Tilt Poker and Poker Stars that have already done the same thing a significant amount of time ago.
Continuing on from that feature is the introduction of two fun upgrades that once again have already been seen elsewhere in the online poker community for some time. The first is the ability for a player at the table involved in a heads up match to show one of their cards, usually in an attempt to fool the other person into making a false tell. The second is a rabbit hunting feature that allows players to see what the next community card would have been after folding their hand. Neither feature will add a huge amount to the average game, but once in a while using those features will spice things up.
Party Poker has also revamped their tournament information displays in the lobby, making it easier for people to get information about the different tournaments that interest them.
However, the most talked about change at Party Poker is the anonymous tables that have come to bear with their newest software upgrade. These tables allow people to play anonymously and essentially take statistical analysis via betting patterns out of the tactical mix due to the anonymity involved. Reaction to these tables is mixed, but it certainly is interesting to see Party Poker, a normally docile online poker website, taking the lead in a given area.
