Poker in the Park events taking place on the 13th and 14th of the month

One of the most memorable moments of poker in Europe during the 2008 year had to be the Poker in the Park festivities that went on around that time. These festivities are memorable because they took poker players from all over the world and combined them in a format that allowed the players to be laid back and relaxed with each other and as a result of that there was a lot of give and take. Ultimately, it was a new way to think about poker and almost everyone that visited the event ended up enjoying it as a result of that new way of thinking.

The good news for people that have been craving that type of action is that Poker in the Park is returning for 2009 for its third annual running. Poker in the Park during the 2009 year will take place on April 13th and 14th and will feature many of the same instances in 2009 that made the 2008 year one of such popularity. While individual performances or appearances are hard to come by, the general rumor mill that has been circulating around the event states that many of the same poker stars that appeared in 2008 will be returning for 2009.

The third annual Poker in the Park event is scheduled to take place in Leicester Square and will be free for anyone that wants to attend. The only restriction is that in order to attend the festivities, you do need to be over 18 years of age. If you are under 18 years of age, unfortunately the park will be out of bounds for you and you will have to wait until the year you turn 18 in order to enjoy some of the back and forth that takes place at a Poker in the Park festival.

The 2008 festival was impressive because of the number of different European poker stars that showed up. Dave Ulliott, commonly known as the “Devilfish”, made an appearance last year and pontificated continuously about how to chat up the other players at the table, something that he is an expert in. Paul Jackson was also present and shared with the festival goers his experiences with live poker action, paving the way for many online professionals to gain some experience for free at the live version of their favorite pastime.
