Poker Stars and the Latin American Poker Tour Roll Into Town
In a poker market where it seems that just about every traditional geographic unit you can think of has its own poker tour, Poker Stars is bringing back one that was very much successful the first time it took place. It is known as the Latin American Poker Tour and the first two seasons of the tour were quite successful.
In an effort to replicate some of that success, Poker Stars is launching the third season of the Latin American Poker Tour with a tournament that is scheduled to take place within the country of Costa Rica.
This is good news for Humberto Brenes, a team Poker Stars player that hails from that region of the world. In tournaments, he was very excited about the prospect of playing in the Latin American Poker Tour and in getting a chance to game in his very own bounty charity tournaments. With proceeds going to a good cause (The Whitley Fund for Nature) and everyone from Team Poker Stars with a bounty on their head in the tournament, it should definitely be an exciting evening for everyone involved.
As previously mentioned, Costa Rica will be the first stop on the Latin American Poker Tour. There will be a $2500 + $200 tournament there taking place from November 19 to November 22. The next stop will be in the Bahamas on January 4-14 with a $10,000 + $300 tournament. February 24-27 will see the LAPT host their third event in Uruguay with a $3500 + $200 tournament. Stop four will be in Chile on March 20-23 with a mirror of the $2500 + $200 tournament that took place four months earlier in Costa Rica. The fifth and at the moment final event will be a $5000 + $300 tournament in Argentina with the dates still to be announced.
With this line of tournaments just waiting for action, Poker Stars hopes to keep people in Latin America interested in poker tournaments. If the turnouts are anything like they’ve been in the two previous seasons, they should have no problem accomplishing that particular goal.
