Poker Reality Television Coming to Town
In the modern entertainment world, one can claim that any particular industry has not truly arrived in the mainstream of a society unless there is a reality television series about it. Well, online poker no longer has that problem because of a show called “2 Months, $2 Million” that is set to air on television station G4 in August of this year. The show represents the first online poker reality show to be played on a major station and for that reason the online gambling community has already been very animated about their positive reception to the idea.
The idea is an interesting one and one that many people will like even if they are not big fans of online poker. The basic premise of the show is that there are four friends, all of whom are professional online poker players. These players are collectively going to play online poker for as many hours a day as they can manage for a full two month period. At the end of the two month period, the players want to have won $2 million between the four of them or on average $500,000 per person over the course of the reality television series. If each player is able to average $250,000 per month for the two month period, the group of four will have reached their goal.
It is an interesting idea, but a daunting task for the four online poker players. These players are Jason Rosenkrantz (pr1nnyraid), Brian Roberts (Flawless_Victory), Emil Patel (whitelime) and Dani Stern (Ansky). While all four players do have a lot of experience with the online poker format, the truth of the matter is that prizes in the $80,000 to $100,000 range appear to be the prizes that most of these people have won as a one time major scoring event. For that reason, getting $250,000 in a single month and then repeating that feat in the following month will certainly be a difficult journey to make. Still, the entire online poker world will be rooting for them to make it and by the end of the show so will a lot of non-players.
