Party Poker brings Big Game back for fifth season
The Big Game, a televised poker cash game hosted by Party Poker, has become one of the most popular poker television programs available. The combination of the novelty of seeing a high stakes cash game, the presence of some of the best names in poker and of course the ability for one person to get voted out of the table survivor-style every few hours during 48 hours straight of nothing but poker action is one that has lured many people to watching the game.
Since the game is such a fixture in the minds of much of the poker-watching public, it is perhaps no surprise whatsoever that Party Poker has decided to bring the Big Game back for its fifth instalment. The previous four have been received warmly and there is no doubt whatsoever that this one will follow in those footsteps.
Party Poker is holding three different points races for players that would like to get a seat at the table in the Big Game. These different races are respectively aimed at people with low, medium and high bankrolls and therefore players regardless of the money they have will have the chance to get through to the end and win the $15,000 prize package that will see them get a seat at the Big Game with the chance to walk away with a lot of extra money.
The good thing about the Big Game promotion is that it is a cash game and this means that players could actually walk away with more money than they started with even if they don’t have the most chips at the end. Tournaments see everyone but one person eliminated with rigid prize structures, but here players can win a little, get voted off and still have a profit to show for the entire experience.
Of course, Party Poker will make sure that their qualified players win something before they’ve even taken their seat at the Big Game table. This is because on top of the points race and prize packages, Party Poker is offering $10,000 in freeroll cash prizes to go along with $20,000 in points prizes, giving people the chance to win some serious cash before the game even starts.
