PKR Poker Hosting Satellites for APT Macau
Macau is a city in China that has become the Las Vegas of the Eastern World In fact, there are many that believe it will not be long before Macau eclipses Las Vegas as being the gambling capitol of the world, something that is an even greater held belief in the area of poker.
Since there is such a positive feeling in the marketplace regarding Macau, it is not surprising that one of the highlight stops on the Asian Poker Tour every year is a stop that takes place in Macau as the Main Event.
This year, the 2010 APT Macau event will take place on November 6th to start and then run all the way through to November 14th for the people that are able to get that far in the tournament The host will be the City of Dreams Resort in the city of Macau and there is every reason to expect that last year’s winner Adrian Allain will be back in business to defend the title that he won in 2009.
Something interesting that many people may not know about Allain is that he actually won his seat into the 2009 APT Macau tournament by winning a satellite tournament at PKR Poker The seat that he was able to win at the tournament was parlayed from an original entry into the satellite tournament of $5 From that initial entry, Allain was able to win his way into the tournament and of course eventually to win the tournament, turning that $5 into hundreds of thousands of dollars by the time the dust had settled.
In many ways, Macau has been following in the footsteps of the WSOP tournaments in Las Vegas Allain has already been compared by many to Chris Moneymaker, especially in the tournament interest that he has brought as a result of his victory This year, PKR Poker will be holding a series of satellite tournaments that players can participate in if they’d like to win their way to the main tournament this year In the final events, 1 in 26 players will be given a prize pool to the tournament worth $6500 a piece.
