PKR Live IV Gaining Media Steam

The PKR Live series of brick and mortar poker tournaments has really started to take on steam and with every successive running of the tournament it seems to gain more followers and more media attention.

PKR Live III was run at the Loose Cannon Club in London and the organizers of the tournament were so impressed by that venue that they decided that PKR Live IV would be run in the exact same place. May 7th will be the starting day of the event that has a buy-in of $500 and the tournament will be over by the end of May 9th. At the same time, there will be a side tournament starting on the 9th with a buy-in of $150 + $12. The Main Event is of course the big one though and with a guaranteed top spot of $20,000, it is certainly a tournament that will allow you to win big.

The good news about PKR Live IV is that it will contain the qualification satellites of online poker events just like the previous iterations of this live poker tournament. Satellites that offer prizes including entry into the Main Event and the Side Event have a $150 buy-in although there are super satellite tournaments with buy-ins that are $5 that can allow you to get a ridiculous return on your investment. If this sounds farfetched, it is important to note that this has already happened in this tournament series. Karl Fenton won PKR Live II and he started out with a $5 investment in one of the super satellite tournaments.

If you manage to win one of the satellite tournaments that contain a prize package, you will get $1200 in prize money. This will cover entry into both live poker events and in addition to that you will also get $550 leftover that you can then use as spending money in London or transportation money to get yourself to the site of the tournament. You will need to attend the tournament if you win the satellite though because you cannot exchange the prizes for their cash value.
