Although Full Tilt Poker cannot claim to be the home of the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP, which is hosted at Poker Stars), they nevertheless have their own premier online poker championship. It is called the Full Tilt Online Poker Series or FTOPS for short and in its most recent 17th iteration which took place just recently, this online poker giant was able to give away $19 million in prize money over the course of 34 different events that comprised the tournament series.

However, Full Tilt Poker understands that there are many people out there that cannot afford entry into one of these high stakes poker tournaments and could not win their way in through satellites and that is why they also offer a miniature version of this series. The same 34 tournaments will be run again from September 8th through September 17th with the difference of having much smaller buy-ins this time around.

If you take a look at the buy-ins, you’ll see more specifically that each one of them is 10% of the buy-in of their big brother event. However, in total the MiniFTOPS will give out $6 million in prize money and therefore is nowhere near one-tenth of the prize money of its big brother tournament series. You can have a chance at winning roughly 30% of the prize money with 10% of the buy-in which is definitely advantageous no matter how you slice that particular deal.

The tournaments will take place according to pretty much the same schedule as the main FTOPS with the start date shifted to make sure it came after the larger event. Players can directly buy into any of the tournaments assuming that room is still available. Additionally, players that still feel the buy-ins for these tournaments are too large can try their luck at satellite tournaments. Each event will have satellites dedicated to it with the earliest ones starting on August 16th and continuing right through to the commencement of the tournament series.
