Hopes High on Eve of World Series of Poker

The World Series of Poker is set to start on Friday May 28th and right now on the eve of the event the level of anticipation is quite high. Players from all over the world are going to be competing in many of the 57 bracelet events at this year’s series and of course anyone that wins their first bracelet will be a small part of poker history as is the case every single year.

The first weekend of this year’s World Series of Poker features four events that are going to set the stage for what might happen later on in the tournament. These events include the $500 Casino Employees No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em and the $50,000 Player’s Championship, both of which will start on Friday. The first of many $1000 No Limit Hold ‘Em events will follow on Saturday and then a $1,500 Omaha Hi/Lo tournament will get started on Sunday.

The Player’s Championship is a new event this year that will be replacing the HORSE tournament that last year was not even able to get to a field of 100 before the actual tournament started. The Player’s Championship is also a forced rotation game but with many games like 2-7 Triple Draw and No Limit Hold ‘Em added to the five main games in HORSE in order to mix things up even more. The best all around poker player for the year will certainly be crowned at this tournament and that is why one can expect all of the best players in the world to show up for this one.

As is usually the case however, the No Limit Hold ‘Em events are likely to take centre stage. In addition to the tournament on Saturday, there are five other No Limit Hold ‘Em events scheduled with a $1000 buy-in not to mention the larger tournaments with $5000 and of course championship $10,000 buy-ins. For someone that is a fan of playing No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em, the World Series of Poker is definitely the place to be this year and every year. It is also just as kind to everyone else.
