Full Tilt Poker continues Montreal tradition

Full Tilt Poker has long been known for their partnership with the Miriam Foundation in the creation and fulfillment of tournaments like the Montreal Open. This year they will be continuing the collaboration with a foundation that is famous for the work they do with providing assistance to families affected by autism.

The Montreal Open 2011 will be starting on March 27th in the initial round which will then continue through to the 30th. At the end of that period of time, 30 players will remain and those players will then move to Las Vegas in order to play the final rounds of the tournament in front of a live television audience. This makes the Montreal Open the largest charity poker event in Canada that makes it onto a national television broadcast.

Not only is the tournament for a good cause, but there is definitely monetary incentive to do well at the tournament as there will be $250,000 in prizes and several WSOP entries available during this final 30 battle. Players have a lot to play for and that should mean like in previous years that the competition is fast and furious as players attempt to build up their chip stacks in order to make a legitimate run towards that final group.

Players interested in getting in on the action at the Montreal Open can actually go right ahead and win their seats through qualification tournaments taking place on Full Tilt Poker. Normal entry into the tournament is $55, but because Full Tilt Poker is a big fan of satellite tournaments it is definitely possible to get into the tournament for a lot cheaper. The lowest satellite tournaments available start at $3.30 for entry and that means that it is potentially possible for a player to from $3.30 to the Montreal Open to the World Series of Poker and win the biggest prize of them all.

This may seem unlikely, but an internet qualification win was probably deemed impossible before Chris Moneymaker’s win in 2003. The chance to repeat that success as well as be part of a great charity cause at the same time is definitely attractive to the many players that will be participating in these satellite tournaments on the Full Tilt Poker website.
