Full Tilt Poker Qualifiers Potentially Promise Players Millions
One of the major strengths of online poker has always been the online satellite tournament. This tournament often has a buy-in that is far less than the tournament that it is acting as a satellite for, but a win in that tournament can land the winning player with enough money to actually end up at a seat in the larger tournament with the opportunity to potentially win a much larger amount of money in the process. Full Tilt Poker, fully understanding this particular allure of satellite tournaments, has gone ahead and taken advantage of it by offering satellite tournaments to their two high profile events of Poker Million and Late Night Poker.
Poker Million and Late Night Poker represent the two television cash cows of the Full Tilt Poker operation. Poker Million was originally created by Ladbrokes Poker, but has since come under the banner of Full Tilt Poker. With many of the world’s best players vying for a chance at the Million Dollar Plus prize pool, Full Tilt Poker now has a $535 satellite tournament that will run on August 2nd to start with and then several dates in September as well. This satellite will end up with a grand prize of $22,000. That will be enough to cover the $20,000 buy-in to the Poker Million Tournament as well as a little bit left over for spending money for the person that is lucky and/or good enough to win the satellite tournament.
Late Night Poker is a bit of a different beast, although it is still an event on television that people will get a chance to play in live should they win the satellite to do so. The buy-in for Late Night Poker is half the size of Poker Million (exactly $10,000) and people that play in the satellite tournaments for Late Night Poker will have to pay $322 as an entry fee. The first of these satellite tournaments will take place on June 7th, although there will be several others in July that people can buy-in to if they feel like they want a cheap spot on Late Night Poker.
