Full Tilt Poker Cash Game Has Seven-Figure Pot

Full Tilt Poker has often played second fiddle within the online televised cash game circuit. High Stakes Poker was the first show to really explore the world of online poker and the Full Tilt Poker Million Dollar Cash Game has really had to take a back seat to them no matter what else they have tried to do.

Now it is a different story however as something has happened within the Full Tilt Poker cash game that could directly challenge the very foundation upon which the success of High Stakes Poker was built.

What made High Stakes Poker such a popular show was that every now and then truly colossal pots came up. The World Series of Poker may have had $10,000 buy-ins, but that is nothing compared to pots worth six figures that regularly took place on High Stakes Poker. In the most recent fifth season of the show, a pot exceeded $900,000 in value between Tom Dwan and Barry Greenstein.

However, the Million Dollar Cash Game had a pot during the fourth season that ended up being $1.1 million in size. The pot has not been televised yet, but it will be shown on Sky Sports during the running of the fourth season of the cash game show in January of 2010.

The interesting aspect of both games is that many of the same players actually play in both shows. In Addition to Tom Dwan, Phil Ivey, Chris Ferguson, Gus Hansen, Mike Matusow and Patrik Antonius are amongst the other poker professionals that have played in both of the high stakes cash game shows.

Interestingly enough, Tom Dwan is the player that was involved in the largest pots on both shows. He had a showdown with Phil Ivey that resulted in the $1.1 million pot on the Full Tilt Poker Million Dollar Cash Game and he had a showdown with Barry Greenstein that resulted in the $0.9 million pot on High Stakes Poker.

Dwan is currently flying high in the world of poker, both online and offline. He was recently rejected as an entrant to the poker hall of fame however because the committee judged that he had not yet stood the test of time.
