Dream Team Poker’s second tournament at Caesars Palace starts on March 27th 2009

March 27, and Caesars Palace in Las Vegas will come alive with professional poker players battling it out at the Dream Team Poker’s second tournament. The $550 event is already sold out, and will be headlined by "Team Favorites,” featuring Mike "The Mouth" Matusow, the Ultimate Bet pro Phil Hellmuth, and LA Lakers’ Jerry Buss.

Hellmuth is a towering figure in the poker arena with a record 11 WSOP titles under his belt. He became the youngest player to win a WSOP Main Event, when he triumphed in 1989, aged 24. This record was later broken by Danish poker pro Peter Eastgate in 2008. Buss and Matusow are also known names in the poker industry, having competed on televised competitions like GSN's "High Stakes Poker."

In fact, an all-women team will also lock horn at the Caesars Palace. The team, dubbed "Team Yo Mama", features the Ultimate Bet Star Player Tiffany Michelle, Maria Ho, and Lacey Jones. Another notable team in the event is PICClub.com Team 1, consisting of Tom McEvoy, T.J. Cloutier, and Kathy Liebert, the current runners up in the recently held World Poker Tour’s Bay 101 Shooting Star tournament.

Other potential competitors in attendance at Caesars include Jerry Yang and Jamie Gold, the 2006 and 2007 WSOP Main Event winners, and their respective teams, Bodog pro Justin "ZeeJustin" Bonomo and his colleague Survivor: China" contestant Jean-Robert Bellande, the Doyle’s Room pros Todd Brunson and Hoyt Corkins, 2008 WSOP Europe Main Event final table member Scott Fischman, 2006 WSOP Main Event runner up Paul Wasicka, online poker pro and Poker News Daily contributor Shane "Shaniac" Schleger, and Hard Rock Individual Champion Jason Lilly, to name a few.

On the prospects of a mouthwatering competition, the Director of the poker room at Caesars Palace said in a press release, "Dream Team Poker offers a creative structure to team poker and we are proud to host this event in the World Series of Poker tournament room, which is also the site of NBC Heads-Up Poker and daily tournaments."

The tournament runs from March 27 to March 29. The first placed team will take home $45,000, while the runners up could pocket $22,500, and the third placed team will receive $10,800. The individual winner at the tournament could take home $20,400.
