Day 2 Of The European Poker Tour In Copenhagen

Day 2 of the Poker Stars European Poker Tour in Copenhagen proved to be as an exciting day as the first. The day started with 170 players and we were happy to see some of the top players were still on board and fighting it out. Luca Pagano, Thor Hansen, Noah Boeken, and Alex Kraychenko were all some of the notable players that were left. The beginning of the day moved quickly as the players rushed to win the money they needed and to secure their spots to the top table.

Nicolas Levi was one of the first to make a drastic move early in the day as he went all in during the small blind with only a Kh Jh. The original raiser that was in the cutoff seat decided to call with Ah Qh. Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to Levi as he made his way to the rail early on in the day. Other early eliminations were Boatman, Hansen, Boeken, and Mattern.

Jonas ‘Nebuchad’ Danielsson was confident that his winning strike – which began earlier in the week after he received an award for Online Player of the Year during the Scandinavian Poker Awards – ended swiftly on the second day after he gave away what little chips he had from the small blind while holding a 8c 2s. Timothy Vance – the opponent – was holding Ah Qs and decided to call. The flop revealed 10h 8h 9c - which was to the advantage of Danielsson until the turn revealed a 3h. After the Jh was revealed during the river it gave Vance both a straight and a flush and sent Danielsson straight to the rail.

Vance was on a roll after beating Danielsson by going after both Johannes Korsar and Kresten Nielsen and eliminating them. Everyone had gone all in and 10c Qd 8h 5s 5h was on the board. Johannes Korsar was holding the Ac Ks and Nielsen was holding the Ks 2h. However, their hands couldn’t hold up against Vance's Jh Jd.

One of the players that impressed us the most was the Canadian - Tommy Pavlicek. He played strong throughout the whole day and became the only player non-Scandinavian players who made it into the top ten. After moving to his new table Pavlicek found himself going up against Tomasz Krzesinski. Pavlicek was holding a great pair of Ac Ad and Krzesinski was holding 9c 9h. The board revealed Kh 10d 4h 3d 8h- which doubled Pavlicek up. Krzesinski was severely crippled by this hand and was eliminated just a few hands later.

Day 2 ended with Rasmus Hede Nielsen as the chip leader. Right below him in second place was Joris Jaspers who had a very close lead. Below you can view the top ten chip leaders.

  • Rasmus Hede Nielsen — 295,500
  • Joris Jaspers — 294,800
  • Johan Lund — 290,500
  • Patrik Andersson — 268,500
  • Jospeh Serock — 265,000
