Darvin Moon Latest to Play Inside Deal
Inside Deal is the name of a television show that regularly airs on the ESPN.com website. It is a show that purportedly discussed poker news issues as well as opinions on different happenings within the poker world. It is much more than a news show for that reason and Darvin Moon is just the latest in a long line of poker players to make appearances on the show. He was there alongside Lacey Jones, a poker professional for the Absolute Poker franchise.
Amongst the topics that were discussed on the show, the chances of Darvin Moon to take it all in November was probably the most interesting given the two guests that appeared in the show. This is the second year in a row that the final table of the World Series of Poker Main Event will be broadcast in November as opposed to the summer. This year, Darvin Moon will be entering as the chip leader in a table that includes poker professional Phil Ivey and poker analyst and magazine editor Jeff Shulman.
According to recent reports, Shulman has been receiving coaching by Phil Hellmuth in an effort to improve the short-handed game. Apparently, Mr. Shulman feels that the short-handed game is his weakness and since he hopes to go far into the final table, he will definitely need that game to be on for him if he hopes to reach that goal.
Moon was quite humble on the show, pointing out quite rightly that he had the least experience of any of the players at the table. Rather than going through furious training in an effort to win the tournament, he decided that he would stick with the tight playing strategy that allowed him to get this far. One has to respect that angle of things and for that reason Darvin Moon is already developing an aura of likeability despite the fact that even he agrees that his chances of actually winning the tournament are quite slim.
Other topics that were discussed on the ninth weekly iteration of Inside Deal included Paul Zimbler playing charity poker for 75 straight hours and Annette Obrestad schooling Team Americas in the most recent Caesars Cup.
