Chris Ferguson Wins NBC National Head-Up Poker Finals

The much-awaited 2008 NBC National Head-Up Poker Finals has come to an end and Chris Ferguson is the ultimate poker winner this year. In 2005 and 2006, Chris Ferguson had only took home the runner up title but this time around, the 2008 NBC National Heads-Up Poker title went straight to him after beating Andy Bloch. Ferguson also fought with Bloch in two out of three outings in the past of the National Heads-Up competition. Before the poker game started, Andy Bloch believed that he is the Paul Wasicka of this year’s poker event.

Wasicka was the last minute replacement for Doyle Brunson during the event in 2007, when Brunson was unable to attend the poker game last year. And the replacement proved to be a good and lucky one as Wasicka unexpectedly won the poker event. For this year’s poker event, Andy Bloch was also a last minute replacement for Brad Garret, actor/comedian. Garret has to go back to work after Hollywood writer’s strike had reached a final deal. Ferguson had to resurrect from behind to stop Bloch from being another Wasicka this year.

Player matches for this year’s poker event were described with various differences but the final poker match between Andy Bloch and Chris Ferguson were described with striking similarities making the match more exciting. Ferguson and Bloch are both popular professional poker players that are known to be associated with online poker site, Full Tilt. Full Tilt is leading online poker site known to offer high poker bonus and exciting Freerolls.

Aside from playing in online poker, Full Tilt, Bloch and Ferguson characterized their play using tested mathematical biases. It is known that in 1990’s, these two poker players had individually developed rank of hands with a use of computer simulation that are created using only assumptions identically.

Aside from being Full Tilt poker players and developers, both players are also degree holders from reputable universities. During the first part of the game, Ferguson had the early lead but Bloch good card combinations had defeated Ferguson flats. Before the match two, Ferguson smilingly said that he is actually feeling the pressure to win the game. When the game advances only minor tussle took place and the poker match was relatively even for both players until Ferguson yielded a lead against Bloch. And the final hand sees Ferguson as the winner of the match two.

In match three, Ferguson had taken the lead and after twenty minutes of game. Ferguson bet with 10-7-3 flop and got check-raised with Bloch. In the final hand, Bloch is “calling the heads but tails is what he unfolds.” Then, finally, Ferguson turned two black jacks allowing him to win this year’s NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship.

Ferguson waved his hand on the air after winning five hundred thousand dollars for this poker event. Meanwhile second placer, Andy Bloch, won two hundred fifty thousand dollars.

Ferguson was really delighted as he finally won this year after being a runner-up in the past year’s event.
